KING JAMES BIBLE

MATTHEW HENRY'S COMMENTARIES
1. There is only one true God, uncreated, working in Trinity as The Father - The Word (The Son) - The Holy Spirit. 2. God created ALL THINGS by The Word (Jesus Christ), those seen and unseen. Thus, God is the Sovereign Ruler of ALL THINGS: the universe, the planets, wind, rain, heat, cold, angels, demons, kingdoms, kings, men, women, children, animals and plant life. 3. God is Perfect, Holy and Righteous: incapable of sin, error or injustice. 4. The Holy Spirit (God) authored both Old and New Testaments, using men as writers. Since God authors Scripture for men, the Holy Bible is the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct for men. 5. God made man is His own image and likeness, so that man would imitate God, exercising judgment and dominion over God's creation as His agent, striving to emulate (with His help) God's perfection and righteousness. To this end, man was instructed and warned about the consequences of disobeying God. 6. Since ALL men come from the loins of the first man, when Adam sinned, ALL MEN SINNED, because all other men were inside Adam as his seed. Because of Adam's sin, each man after Adam was conceived from sinful seed. Thus, man is sinful before birth, is estranged from God, is certain to die physically, is already dead spiritually, is unable to return to spiritual unity with God of his own accord, and is incapable of living a life directed toward righteousness and sinlessness. 7. Before creation, God selected certain men to be redeemed back to Himself, to be indwelt by His Holy Spirit, to be adopted as His children and taken to His home in Heaven (commonly known as "being saved"). By not selecting other men for redemption, God doomed these men to being the spiritual children of Satan. As Satan's spiritual children, they will receive an inheritance from what their father "owns." God has given Satan 'defacto' ownership of the space he occupies as His prisoner, in eternal damnation: a burning, tortuous, everlasting Hell, without hope of escape. 8. Before creation, God determined that The Word would leave His Throne beside The Father and descend to Earth; to become His only begotten Son by being conceived of the Holy Spirit; to be born of a virgin; to live a sinless life; to perform miracles of healing, feeding multitudes, walking on water, commanding demons, calming storms, and resurrecting the dead; to die on the cross and spill His sinless Blood to pay for ALL the sins of HIS people, as they were selected by God to be saved from Hell. When The Word became flesh, He was renamed Jesus Christ. He is fully God and fully man. 9. Jesus (Saviour) Christ (Anointed) is the only doorway into Heaven. Only Jesus' sinless Blood is accepted by God as "the eraser" of sin. Today, after resurrecting Himself, Jesus is alive, sitting upon the Throne He once left, ruling over all creation, continually praying for those men selected by His Father, using His Blood as the offering of atonement for their sins to make them "sinless." 10. In order to be saved, a man must by faith, submit to Jesus as his Saviour and Master, denounce his sin, ask The Father for forgiveness, be baptized in water and be indwelt by the Holy Spirit. The Father has promised to forgive and save each man who submits to Jesus. 11. After receiving Jesus, The Holy Spirit enters into the physical bodies of God's Elect, as the "earnest" of what is to come, to transform their hearts toward loving God and obeying His Will. Soon after His entry into a believer's body, the Holy Spirit will evidence His entry by enacting one or more supernatural gifts: 1.) Word of Wisdom, 2.) Word of Knowledge, 3.) Faith, 4.) Healing, 5.) Working of Miracles, 6.) Prophecy, 7.) Discerning of spirits, 8.) Speaking in Tongues, or 9.) Interpretation of tongues. 12. The Holy Spirit is ever present where believers are gathered to honor Jesus Christ. He often chooses to be active in a person, a congregation or both during praise or prayer time. He shows His presence by supernatural signs and wonders: e.g., miracles, healing, prophecy, words of knowledge, speaking in unknown languages or by manifesting Himself as a tangible vision. 13. The Church is not a building, but the body of believers who serve Christ. The body of believers congregates at least once every seven days to honor Him with praise and offerings. God has designated this meeting holy and blessed. In obedience to God's command, we praise Him by giving Him thanks, by compliments, by raising hands, by applause, by dancing, singing or giving testimonies. Believers partake in all holy sacraments, including water baptism and the observance of the Lord's Supper. 14. The Church's ministry is to "make disciples" of every nation, while it supports its members with prayer, suitable assistance, encouragement and instruction for growing in the Spiritual likeness of Christ. 15. With few exceptions, obedient believers are endowed by Christ to have health and sufficiency in all they need. Believers must obey God, seeking His healing and provision BEFORE they seek the help of man. Individual and corporate prayer will often bring forth supernatural healing and natural provision. 16. There will be a bodily resurrection of all men; some to eternal life (Spiritual unity with God), some to eternal damnation (spiritual unity with Satan). Jesus Christ will personally return to judge each man for the things he has done in his flesh. He will establish His Kingdom, void of evil.

Jesus said unto him,
"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."
"This is the first and great commandment."
"And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."
"On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
